    Hello
I have this well weathered Saxony 107th buckle in my collection.
I have taken some close up photos of the center piece.
It definitely has some serious patina on it and the rear looks great, absolutely untouched.
My question is does the center look OK??
I could be over thinking it but around the white metal center disk is it just polishing marks from some vigorous cleaning at some stage in the past.....
You do have to look very hard and on the right angle and lighting.

Also noted you can see indentations from where the catch was brazed on the back showing on the front a little something I've see before.
    What are you thoughts....

    Thanks for looking.

    Hello,
You probably won't like my opinion, but you asked...
The box is okay for me..
    The roundel, however, is not...
    1. Blur, blurry embossing
    2. The surface has depressions (cavities) and beads; casting would be possible
    3. rough surface (orange peel)

Can you perhaps (invisibly) remove a chip on the rondel and see what it looks like underneath?

    Thanks and Greetings

Hello and thanks for the reply.
Yes I would say the macro lens accentuates the surface texture, something that is not noticeable to the eye when in hand.

I'm not sure I can remove a chip? Safely
    Any other way to test?
Unless the surface has been exposed to a cleaning compound or something acidic that could tarnish the surface?

Are you thinking it should look more like the 108th buckle I have here?

Discussion is great, that's what these sites are for.

    Cheers
