Article about: Greetings, is this an original Iron Cross? I can't see anything wrong with the cross it's self but I'm not sure about the ribbon. Any thoughts?

    Nick,
    The cross looks good to me. Not sure about the ribbon. The weave looks
    good and it's looped on both sides but the condition of the ribbon seems
    to be a lot better than the condition of the cross. IMO it would be worth
    taking a chance on it.

    Thanks for taking a look! The ribbon has the correct appearance of an original from what I can see but as you said, the condition doesn't match that of the cross. My biggest concern is of course the cross so as long as that checks out, i'm all in!

    I like this one and IMO its a good Imperial EK.

    I have one or two in my collection that look similar to this one, with its core showing through the black finish and a few scars to the frame. I also like the patina to the frame on this one. This EK has been around and well used and for me that adds just a little bit more to the mystery of each one.

    I agree with Greg regarding the ribbon, it looks to be a period one but IMO I would say it has been added to the cross over time.
