Re: Adler's Imperial collection
I decided to go backwards through the Imperial section and stumbled into this completely by accident!
This is an incredible collection! At the Royal Ontario Museum near where I live, The WW1 section consists of two heavy machineguns, A Ross rifle, A GEW 98, A luger and a Camo Helmet. That's all it's been since I was very young. I'm 19 now and becoming a great deal more interested in the First "Great" War. This is quite inspiring!
Since you began collecting in '73 without the help of the net, where did you look?
Have you found the net to be a great help in finding more pieces for your collection?
Your chest plates alone blew me away, let alone your 'Haube wall!
Thanks so much for posting!

Re: Adler's Imperial collection
Thanks for the compliment!
To answer your questions is actually very simple... Just imagine there is no internet and start looking for what you need or want.
However, I can imagine this would be very difficult at this moment, but in those days it just didn't exist... In those days I went a lot to militaria shows, antique halls, fleamarkets and so... Of course there was in those days still a lot more material out there and it was cheaper also ;-)

Re: Adler's Imperial collection
There are a couple of flea markets in town where I love, one of which *definitely* has some wartime German things. I actually haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet!
I'm concerned, however, that much of what the fellow is offering is fake. I suppose if it isn't, he'll have no problem with me taking some pictures and displaying them here to get some confirmation!
