Default Belgian M1924 Bayonet Questions Please

I picked up this bayonet which suffers from some poor storage. I believe I am correct stating it correctly as a M1924 bayonet as the cross guard is not pinned (M1916). This is for the Mauser rifle. Unique blade construction. Numbers matching scabbard. I am not sure how common this is as this is way outside my collecting. all opinions are appreciated. Thank you for looking.

A good condition example. As you say, will be the 1924 version if the blade hilt and cross guard are a one piece forging. Not uncommon but an interesting bayonet.

That is my first time seeing one like that. That blade is very unique, Almost quatrefoil'ish. But I bet very effective for its intended use.
Thank you for sharing that. Looks to be in very nice shape also

Thank you for the confirmation. First one I have had as I do not collect WWI but came as a pair with a 42 date K98 bayonet, not matching and nothing special.

I imagine the Belgium army were still using these when the German's invaded in 1940. So could be viewed as early WW2.

This is the 1916/1924 bayonet for the Mod 1889 Belgian Mauser rifle. I think it is Mod 1924 because the quillon was removed. In use at the beginning of WW2 with reserve troops. The regular army was then using the Mod 1935 and 1936 Mauser (rather difficult to find nowerdays).
