Hello, I'm looking for some opinions on this EK with spange. I've spent a few hours looking throuigh some books I have and the internet and can't find anything definitive about the hinged spange. Legit or not before I throw my hard earned money away???

You're right for posting it first because you indeed would be throwing
your hard earned money away. The entire thing, cross and spange is fake.
I am curious if this is a ebay item or on a dealer site?

Thanks! It is on an auction site- Affiliated Auctions. They typically have a LOT of fake items. Sorry about tagging onto the original post- I thought the whole thread was about WWI EKs, but I went back and re-read the first post- oops! I'll pay better attention next time.
