Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, Otto Schickle.

What do you think of this cross, (I would say a very expensive one). Thinking about buying it, thankful for all the help I can get.

Yes, as far as I know, this is an Otto Schickle made cross.
It is of one piece, die struck construction. most are made of Nuesilber
but some have been found in real silver. They are highly detailed, good
looking crosses.

According to the seller this cross is made probably early 1940. Did they even make this type of cross during the Great War?

Has searched around a bit and it seems that there are some different ”core” variants of this type of cross, or?

I think that these crosses are from the 1920s-30s.
There are at least 2 different cores styles used. the most noticeable difference
is in the date. Here are a couple of mine that show the different dates-

There is another maker (Petz & Lorenz) who made a nearly identical cross.
It has also been suggested that there was another maker but we have no
evidence one way or the other to show that.
