Today I picked up what I believe to be a German trench knife. I know very little about these things, though, so can anyone tell me if it’s genuine, or a reproduction? The only mark I can find is an acceptance mark:

While I have not really studied these as yet, I do like the look of this example. It has a nice overall patina and does look like an original Imperial German fighting knife. These are faked or messed with so best to wait for some of our more experienced edged weapons members such as Anderson to comment.

A known, lesser quality, fighting knife.
It should be 268 mm long, and was manufactured near the end of WW I.
They are only ever found with this stamp, and the manufacturer is unknown as far as I know.

    Not a reproduction, an original.
And one I don't have in my collection, yet.
    Here are some of mine.

I’ve just been told that the maker of this knife was Clemen & Jung of Solingen. Does this sound correct?
