Imperial Bronze statue

Article about: This too was at a local show. Didn't take measurements but it was around 18 inches high if I remember correctly. Any info on it? What type of rifle is that? Looks like a mauser 1888 (Ger88)

    Does it look original?

It's for sale if anyone is interested.

Looks like a Bavarian Infantry man around 1896.

Thanks. It is a beautiful piece. There is nothing engraved on the small plate in the front. Would be nice to accompany an Imperial era collection. Not my area however.

    Greetings Michael,

This piece was purchased off of e-Bay about a month ago. It is a very nice piece.

    Thanks Lance.

The seller noted that he saw one on line for sale recently. I neglected to ask where. Maybe it was the same one you saw in eBay or maybe it is the exact one and he did purchase it off eBay.

Eitherway, a great piece. Not my collecting area otherwise I would have considered it. But it is for sale if anyone else is interested. Do t think you will run across another anytime soon.

Do you remember what it sold for on eBay?

It would look good with a Imperial collection display.
Sadly, I have no room for anything like it.

    Greetings Michael,

Today, while sorting out gathered digital images for storage, I just discovered I had saved a few images from the statue's original e-Bay offering. Below is a side by side (eBay's shots are the left two images) comparison of the unused name/dedication plate mounted at the base of the statue. Note the discoloration in the patina in the center and the exact same orientation of the retaining screws. Just thought you'd wanna see too.

    Best,

    Lance
