Imperial marked Oil Tin??? what do you think its for?

Hello from New Zealand

Looking for help to identify a small metal, what looks like an oil container/tin possibly??
As per my previous post about a German trench knife and a some related items that came with it.
Would anyone know what the exact use or item this belongs to.
It's a real puzzle that I would love to find the answer with your help.

So far I have identified the stamping to the lid. (matching the exact stamped mark found on the base of artillery shells from that period, last photo )

The marking of Artillerie Werkstatt Dresden in Germany, a major manufacturer of WWI munitions for the German Empire
And the letter K
And I also just noticed what looks like the imperial crown stamped over it..

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I understand this is possibly long shot, but seems silly not to ask...
