Picked up today and it looks original to me, but always best to get opinions. It is circa 1m x o.50m.
Thanks.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Any thoughts or opinions? I have been told (on another forum) that it is an unusual example and that might be why no one has an opinion, oh well, stick to text book!
Have seen that pennant in a period use photo, but
unable to find the reference in a search for same.
Stated size is quite large for use on a lance, and my
recollection of those in the period photo was that they
were smaller - use more along the lines of showing the
national colors during mixed non-unit specific parade
reviews or lancer basic tactics training exercises.

Jerry, these pennants were indeed used in Imperial times and well beyond, in the Weimar Republic and well into the TR period, veterans organisations, Government buildings, institutions and off course the general public (for patriotic reasons), often seen side by side swastika flags in the early days....unless dated or you have provanance, you will never know....nice piece though when ever it was made ! you are correct re/lance pennants, much smaller.....
Prost !Steve.
Hi Steve and thanks for posting the extra information and I had wondered if it might have seen use in later periods. I have seen the small triangular tri colour examples of bunting along with the Nasdap type. The only history I have with it is that it was part of a recently split up large and old collection. The seller also had a Prussian lancers lance pennant, a triangular black & white example, with the correct 4 reinforced stitched holes, though I could not afford both and I always wanted a WWI(ish) German flag. If money was not an issue, I would have bought both, as the Lancers pennant was very nice, but I thought the tri colour was more German and I could only have one of them.
