    Hello, Ive found these records on Karl Leister and would like some help translating them. I would normally use some online translations for this but I cant even tell what the words are so that wont work so I need yall's help. Yall dont have to translate them word for word just give me the rundown of them.

    Here's what the records tell us (sorry for the blanks; I couldn't decypher some terms]:

    Karl Leister was born in Landau in der Pfalz (at that time, a part of Bavaria) on 30 June 1893. Karl was a Catholic and (at the time these records were made) single. His parents were the bailiff [Gerichtsvollzieher] Ferdinand Leister and his wife Katharina Leister (née Ostertag). Karl and his parents lived in Kaiserslautern.

    On 9 August 1914, Karl took up service with the 1st Replacement Battalion [I. Ersatzbataillon] of the 8th Infantry Regiment [8. Infanterie-Regiment, properly Königlich Bayerisches 8. Infanterie-Regiment "Großherzog Friedrich von Baden". On 31 December 1914, he was transferred to the regiment's 5th Company [5. Kompanie] and on 1 September 1915 to another unit of the same regiment.

    • 9 August 1914 to 29 December 1914: Service with the wartime garrison at fortress Metz
    • 31 December 1914 to 15 February 1915: Fighting for the Meuse Hills [Maashöhen]
    • 17 February 1915 to 28 March 1915: Fighting at [...]
    • 30 March 1915 to 7 April 1915: [...]
    • 8 April 1915 to 9 April 1915: Fighting at [...]
    • 10 April 1915 to 30 April 1915: Position warfare on the Meuse Hills [Maashöhen]
    • 1 May 1915 to 7 August 1915: Detailed to participation in a training course
    • 8 August 1915 to 1 September 1915: Position warfare on the Meuse Hills [Maashöhen]


    Promotions:
    • 9 August 1914: Fahnenjunker
    • 22 February 1915: Fähnrich
    • 22 March 1915: Offiziersstellvertreter
    • 30 April 1915: Leutnant


    Karl was decorated with the Iron Cross 2nd Class [Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse] on 21 February 1915.
