    Hello everyone
I know it’s a long shot but would anyone hazard a guess at what is stamped on this frog.

My only guess would be ‘1917’, beneath the maker’s mark, but I’ve got nothing much beyond that I’m afraid..

I agree re the date and what is above would obviously be a maker mark. From these pics I believe I can discern the letters 'losch' which is pricking something in my memory but I can't quite put my finger on it. I'll have a think.

Thanks Kohima. I thought 1917 as well. But my eyes are old and not too good!
    Thanks

A long shotCheers Mark. Hope you can recall. Have a cuppa on me if that will help. Don’t know if the frogs were made by the bayonet maker but the maker stamp is attached.

I am assuming that the frog will be hardened from age. This technique might work to bring out more features:

Another long shot, but it might be helpful.

There once was a really good web site for these bayos and frogs but after doing
a search last night for it, I can no longer find it.
