    Hello !

I received this “Marsch-Zirkel” from an old woman. She told me her husband got it from his grandfather.
Its an instrument to see the marching and riding (cavalry) time on a map for a certain distance.
One side is for 1:100000, the other side for 1:80000 map scale.
    The inscription in it is:

    Marsch-Zirkel
    Von
    Prm. Lieut. Brenske
    D.R.P. No 61509

Does anybody know something about this item? What is its value?
All I found out was that it was invented in 1891

OrangSoldier, I have never seen one before, very nice object, that would look good in a map case display or WW1 German map collection...as to value, I can only comment on what I personally would be prepared to pay, around £20/25 Euros...Prost! Steve.

I also guessed its value in this category.
But I found someone selling one of them for much higher price:

Welcome To Fleaglass.com - Antique Scientific Instruments

The one he is sellig is in better condition and with a case.
I wonder how worthy mine really is.

    best wishes,
    0.S.
