My 1914 Eiserne Kreuze I. Klasse

Article about: It's a rainy day here so at the behest of Chopperman, I'm creating a thread to show case my 1914 EKI's. First up is a rather salty (but dear to me) screw back example by Victoria.

    Todd,
What a selection you have! All lovely examples and just goes to show that there are so many variants in which makes collecting these so special!
    Thank you for posting yours!

    Regards,

    Joel
Thank-you for the kind words Joel. I am but a neophyte compared to a few dedicated Iron Cross collectors I have rubbed shoulders with, but I can see how and why they get deeply immersed in this corner of our hobby.

Thanks Greg! Yeah, when I looked at it today I was like "why did I think this is a Godet??" I think I'd fallen and hit my head and was mis-remembering/confusing it with another cross in my collection.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you can assist with the maker.
    Todd,
I'm sorry to say that I can not identify the maker of this cross. I even reached out to
a couple guys that have more experience than me and whose opinion I really trust
and they also could not determine the maker. Your cross has a generic core and pin
and enough wear to the frame as to loose any real identifying features.

I am kind of leaning towards it being a "Friedlander" but that is just a guess on my part.
It is a very nice cross, I wish that I could have been more help with it.

Three very very nice crosses Todd. Looking at these it's time to step up my collecting from EKII to EKI's.
