This is my ancestor but I need help identifying
Hello. My name is Nancy and I believe this photo is a relative.
I can not read/translate the writing at the top - and only know it is labeled Oldenburg 91st Regiment.
I do see my family name OLTMER.
If anyone could help with ANY portion of the wordage I would be grateful!

Hello Nancy.
There are 3 soldiers named Oltmer listed as having been wounded or killed from the 91st Infanterie Regiment, however none are from the 8th Kompanie and none are from Oldenburg. I'm struggling with his first name on the photo as well but it does not look like the ones listed; Fritz, Friedrich or Johann Oltmer.

There is a Georg Oltmer who lived in Oldenburg, but he was in Infanterie Regiment 160. He was listed as badly wounded and missing on 8th September 1916.

A musician would fit. I think the text under the photo says “Hornist Gefreiter Oltmer” (hornblower private Oltmer) so no first name given.

THANK YOU!! You have ALL been very helpful!
