Mystery Uniform - WWI? - Austro-Hungarian?
O great experts, I hope to tap your vast knowledge. I've been breaking my brain trying to research this very old photograph of a uniform that may be ... WWI or earlier? The closest I could find was either Austro-Hungarian or Italian, but I suspect both of those are wrong. Does anyone have an idea? It's a retouched/colorized photograph, so what's on the surface is mostly paint. (The photo is about 20" tall in an oval frame with curved/bubble glass.)
- The collar appears to have either six-pointed or five-pointed stars. (I think six.)
- There appears to be a gold band and a green band on either side.
THANK YOU ALL!

Believe it to be an Italian corporal.

Thank you, aicusv. I was thinking Italian, but I just haven't been able to match those collar markings.

I'm not sure but the black back ground on the tab may represent artillery. Black being the color for technical troops (Artillery, engineers, train).
