I’ve posted this one before a few years ago but here are new updated photos.
This is one that I’ve had in the collection for a few years now. Manufactured in 1916 by Eisenhüttenwerke Silesia, Paruschowitz Oberschlesian, who made size 62 & 66 only, this subtle regulation camo definitely looks nicer in hand which is partly why I’ve held off posting till now. With a mix of light brown and slightly darker green than the regular WW1 issue green, the colours are blocked in with regulation dividing lines that appear slightly thicker than a finger width.
The helmet retains its original chinstrap which is broken at one end while the pads show hard use but are minus their padding. Nicely named to a Gefreiter, the vents are still blocked with what appear to be sticks so as to prevent the cold, or wind whistling through. I think fairly representative of a regular 1918 camo.
