Could be an Imperial M.08 light grey Greatcoat. Are there no stamps in the inside?

Appear to be a "duster" of some type. The US Army use to have a coat that was made of white linen or cotton and were called stable coats. Every mounted (horses) unit had a couple of them that were kept is the stable, to be worn by the clean up detail.
