I think it's a good 2nd Class Silesian Medal with the correct ribbon. Dwight

Yes. Genuine 1 piece from the late 1930s to early 1940s. It's correct name is the Silesian Probation Badge or more popularly Silesian Eagle. There was an oval Silesian Medal with the Silesian Eagle embossed on the obverse awarded by Freikorps Oberland. So, it's confusing and incorrect to call the award you posted a Silesian medal.
