Pre or Post WW1 German army photos. Can anybody date them?
Hello All,
I have had these a while now. I bought them as a job lot of photos, mainly for the WW2 ones that were in there. I suspect that the below pictures are from the inter war period, although some show soldiers in hospital so they could be WW1, can anybody help me date them or give me any further information on them?
Either way I hope somebody out there enjoys looking at them.
Regards

Nice that there are a group of photos with the same tall fellow and toothbrush
mustache wearing a shako ( Husband, Soldier and Police officer - or maybe
Prussian Garde ? ) I noticed he has a 1st Cl. Iron Cross,
and also a peculiar stance.........

I also noticed the peculiar stance! I can't work out whether he stands with a very striaght back or whether he was wounded in the lower back or stomach area hence the hospital photos. Is there any clue to his rank? I appricaiate the images are a little blurry, unfortunatley I don't have a scanner so I have to photograph and crop the images. They came in a 40's/50's folder full of photographs from what I assume is the same family. They were mainly family pictures and holiday images from the late 1800's through to the late 1950's, however there were a few WW2 military ones and the ones above. Some have got notes/names written on the back, however it's in handwriting (and German) that I can't decipher.

Re: His stance, he appears to have a larger lower body, hips and legs in relation
to his upper torso. Reminds me of my Grandfather who was in his late 80's.
It looks like there could be a couple of related families. Very nice photos.
Have no idea of his rank, perhaps someone will though. I also have
a hard time making out the scrawlings of these
old German folk.........
