A Prinzen sized Ek1 made by Zimmerman.
It measures 34.1mm x 34mm. (roughly 3/4 sized). Once upon
a time it would have had a blued core but sadly the bluing is pretty much gone.
The reverse is marked with a 930 silver content stamp and the pin
has been repaired / modified.

Very nice Greg! Congrats!
If that is the one I am thinking of, I contemplated buying that one myself.
He still has a couple of other nice crosses for sale.

Nice one Greg,
So what was the purpose of the Prinzen?
Personal preference or worn when stepping out on the town?

Thanks Phil.
The story goes that the young German princes who were smaller in stature
had Prinzen (hence the name) sized medals made so they could fit all of their
awards on their small chests.
Of coarse that is probably all sheep dip.
Prinzen sized crosses could be privately purchased from a few of the bigger
medal manufactures. They were a fashion statement. The smaller crosses
were for the most part better quality than the standard awarded cross and
were noticeably different. The buyer could show off how wealthy or cool
he was.

Thank you Ralph.
I threw out a lower price and he accepted. He is selling off a lot of his medals
changing his collecting direction. Lucky for me because otherwise I could have
never been able to afford a Prinzen 1st class.

Todd,
What does it measure? I have never heard of a Prinzen sized Victoria.
Well... it's probably not as I just measured it for the first time right now. I bought it as a supposed Prinzen model... back in 1992 (!) from Alden Hamilton and never bothered with it.
My calipers and good measuring stuff is out in the shop but the good old school ruler has it as nearly 41mm across by 40mm high.
I grabbed my pin back Imperial EKI for comparison and it is 42mm x 42mm. AFAIK, Prinzen were supposed to be about 3/4 size, so mine doesn't fit that rule of thumb.
Quick check and Emedals is describing a Prinzen they have as "35.23mm(width) x 39.61mm(height),"
