am interested in purchasing a mantle coat 1915. I have a question about ink marks. why there is a "germany" mark on this coat? the coat is in unused condition. Does this mean that, for example, it ended up in another country's warehouse after the war?

Perhaps a museum collection serial number and stamp. It actually says "German" not Germany.

Coat looks good although it appears to have had the shoulder strap loops and buttons removed.

Ooh wow. Superb coat. Looks like a Model 1915 enlisted man's depot issue greatcoat. It looks like the collar is green. That means that it's Prussian. All other states had fieldgrey collars. Maybe you could try to read the acceptance stamp to get more info about the army group and maybe regiment.

The shoulder straps in this period were not issued anymore at the clothing depot since units changed regularly. There must be strap buttons, applied during the garment production on the shoulders. Just under the collar. Examples wearing shoulder straps had these button removed and replaced due to the shoulder straps length. These were shorter than the distance shoulder and applied button. This means, if the buttons are still there, this coat was un-issued.

This is an example of one of mine. A saxon version with fieldgrey collar. Also not issued.
