Sanke card - Max Ritter von Mulzer

A heavily creased Sanke postcard of Bavarian flying ace Leutnant Max Ritter von Mulzer. The first Bavarian ace, and recipient of the Pour le Mérite. Mulzer was a frequent flyer with friend Max Immelmann. They were known as “Bavarian Max” and “Saxon Max”. He crashed to his death while flying an Albatros D.I in September 1916. This was months after Immelmann fell during a dogfight in which Mulzer claimed a victory. Mulzer was credited with ten victories.
