Unless there are other known examples out there with provenance I think there is no way to know for sure.
MvR was born into a Prussian Family who apparently lived in Silesia. While certainly not my area of expertise, this crown (if he was even allowed to add a crown) is not the Prussian Crown. Further, if he even did have his own silverware, I would expect him to put his family coat of arms on it, and not a crown.
Just my musings.....

Hello,
It’s the same crown of the family crest of the von Richthofens.
Not the Prussian crown
Doh....Homer moment for me. I didn't even notice the crown in the family crest when I looked at it!
This makes it a bit more interesting........
