    Hello,
30 years ago people that I know had acquired this spoon from a resistance fighter from ww2.
It was found in the region of Wervicq Belgium.
They did’nt know anything about it. But MvR has ring a bell to me.
It’s a silver spoon marked 800M and the maker mark but I can’t read it.
It’s clearly marked with the initials MvR and a 7 pointed crown above it.
Now my question is could it be from Manfred von Richthofen.
It was found near the region he was in 1917.
    Thxs for the help

Unless there are other known examples out there with provenance I think there is no way to know for sure.

MvR was born into a Prussian Family who apparently lived in Silesia. While certainly not my area of expertise, this crown (if he was even allowed to add a crown) is not the Prussian Crown. Further, if he even did have his own silverware, I would expect him to put his family coat of arms on it, and not a crown.

    Just my musings.....

    Hello,
It’s the same crown of the family crest of the von Richthofens.
    Not the Prussian crown

Doh....Homer moment for me. I didn't even notice the crown in the family crest when I looked at it!

This makes it a bit more interesting........

    Another cup and saucer.
Only difference the spoon is really found where he was and was not related to him until now.
