Could someone please help with the I.D.I haven't seen one of these before with a press stud??

These short sabres were usually Police side arms. This one matches my Eickhorn catalogue drawing of the Saxony Polizei sabre, pre-WW1 Imperial era. The scabbards were leather on these and so often don't survive. The button catch was a feature of the Saxony model. Nice early Eickhorn.
