just been through my book on WWII troddels and it doesn't appear in that either. The closest I have come is the 6th Inranterie, but they had a red Schieber at the top, not a white one. This means we can rule out WWII Heer. Could it perhaps been messed with? ie had a different colour Schieber added?

    Thank you Gent's for looking.
I picked this up in the 90's at a Phoenix gun show and that is how it was found.

I don't collect these, I just knew about them and decided to add it. I was thinking it was a WW1 type and thought it would go good with the WW1 German bayonets I have.

It's a WW2 era type but Cyclist is correct, The schieber (or slider) and the kranz (the wreath) should always match colour. This one's been messed with, the schieber should be red and that would indicate 2nd Bataillon 2nd kompanie, also referred to the "sixth company"

Thank you Gent's for the thought's and information about this one,

I didn't know folks messed with this type of thing.

    Are schieber's available???

Or just throw it back in the footlocker and call it a day?

A Schieber would only be available if you took it from another item; maybe one that was damaged and being used as a "donor" item
