Unusual Great War Blackened German M1909 ammo pouch with field modifications

Hello All, I just picked up what I believe is an Unusual Great War Blackened German M1909 ammo pouch with field modifications It is marked with the manufacturers name and "Berlin" I was hoping someone would know the name of the company as I cannot make out the firms name any help appreciated.

I don’t know if you’ve managed to work out the name since you posted this, Geoff, but it’s Werkgenossenschaft a.S; which appears to refer to one of the ‘collective’ manufacturing organisations that produced a lot of the later-war items.
I am unsure of the ‘a.S’, but presume it to be a locale indicator.. such as, am See or am Main, &c.
