Here is another postcard that I added to my WW1 Imperial collection recently.

A quite interesting scene which appears to depict a funeral ceremony, perhaps of a higher ranking soldier. There is a distinct lack of steel helmets and remembering that the first of the M16’s (the square dip model) was introduced in small numbers at the battle of Verdun in February 1916, it is no surprise.

The sellers description read, “The cancellation stamp "K.D. Feldpostamt des XVI. Armeekorps" is dated "27.2.16". There is also an office stamp that reads "Königlich Preußtscher Staffelstab Nr. 76" or "Royal Prussian Squadron 76.
