Default WWII Austro-hungarian whistle + pin?

    Hello Guys!

The whistle and the pin came together. The pin was attached to the lanyard. The pin is marked R. Schanes - Wien 13. Front: D, T and C-s or O-s under the ribbon.
The whistle's shape and the lanyard looks WWII german to me, but I have never seen this metal version.
    The pin is obviously austrian.
Do they belong together? Could you help me to clear this issue?

    Thank you!
