Yes, shashka. Dragoon model 1909.
Seeming to lack the rings on the scabbard for carrying a bayonet, to me this appears to be the NCO version of the 'System of 1881' Shashka for Dragoons. They were still being made to at least 1915-17. Nice looking saber. Best Regards, Fred

I (also) forgot to mention that there is a slightly smaller version of the pattern 1881 Shashka for mounted Artillery soldiers that is otherwise identical to the Dragoon version. Also lacking the scabbard fittings for a bayonet - with some uncertainty of what is here needing IMO some additional photos of the obverse side/full length for clarification. Best Regards, Fred
