A shame that the silvering on these badges is so often absorbed by the zinc. This one has just enough of it left to really bring out the details, especially on the eagle and leaves of the wreath.
I've got one of my own on the way; hollow-backed, made of a different alloy that's left the finish alone. The craftsmanship and detailing that went into German combat badges really is incredible.

They are rather attractive badges, and hope you gets yours to cherish in a short bit Brodie
A very nice Franke & Co., Ludenscheid attributed solid zinker.
Myself, I like the mottled calico look these examples take on with time.
Congrats on your new addition...
Here is one of mine.
Best regards, fischer
I also love the Combat Badges of the TR, only have 1 at the moment which I posted earlier in the year. Although I'm concentrating on EK's I can see myself having to acquire a small collection. I think both examples on this thread are very nice.

Thanks Fischer ! I was curious about the maker for the eagles head was a bit odd, and I could not pin it down
I really like the look of the talons for they have a very fine yet aggressive look
