If you look you can see the die flaw on the eagles beak on mine. I've seen as many with the flaw as without. Stewy

I think my pin looks a bit long because the catch is slightly bent inward.

I'm wondering if the hinge has been repaired/replaced at some point?

Can you provide close ups of the hinge area?

Hello fischer,

I can't tell you if it has been replaced or repaired. The only thing i can see is that the finish is the same on the hinge area aswell as on the rest of the medal. Perhaps it's welded a little bit sloppy.
This is the best i can do with the pictures i hope it's enough.

Thank you for the additional pics...It is my opinion the hinge has been repaired at some point.

It looks to me like the formed sheet metal base is sitting on residual solder that someone tried to clean up before reattaching the hinge.
