Fake or real?
Some that I've seen on the web appear stamped and others cast like this one.

This one doesn't sit right with me.
I think it's a good late war zinc badge in bronze.
Hopefully our Infanterie Sturmabzeichen guru, fischer, will see this and give his thoughts.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
To my untrained eye it looks fine too.
Cheers, Ade.
There were made from different materials? Zinc is a fairly low cost material, where some from precious metals? Any value here?
Yes, as a rough rule of thumb the longer the war went on, the poorer the materials used to produce awards. Zinc was widely used as a low cost material towards the end of the war. None were made from precious metals unless the awardee ordered one specifically or was awarded a special presentation piece (if at all.)
Others may disagree but I would give a broad estimate to the piece above of 70€ - 110€ depending where you look as the prices vary from place to place.

SHuCo IAB.
I think its a original worn example.
I agree with Janos...This one is an attributed unmarked 4 vein ShuCo.
Here is one I have with similar hardware set up.
Best Regards, fischer
