But I can only see the miniature link for forums
Any ideas to get them at the right size , never posted images before

No worries, your new so a learning process. As Ralph pointed out, outside image hosting sites are not allowed. Photos should be posted directly to the forum.
My question is, where are the original photos? On your phone? PC? If so they should be of sufficient resolution. So try uploading directly from your PC or Phone. And don't use a third party source. Appears that postimages.org reduces the resolution resulting in these very small images.
