A very nice addition to your collection Todd!
These can fairly often be found in this condition.
This variant has actually been attributed to Wilhelm Deumer, and is referred to as an "oval crimp, deformed leaf".

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Very nice, and very shiny. Brilliant piece I don’t think it gets much better than that.
Excellent addition Todd
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Yes sir! My assessment was also Deumer. Thanks. Yours is also very, very nice.
Hi Mark, I know the feeling well! I am casually collecting by maker or variant, but by no means am I trying to accumulate all possible known makers and variants. That would be a bit much. If I come across a nice looking assault badge and it's not an example I already own, I'm tempted to try and acquire it.
