Being marked Canadian and not Canada would make me think it was an Commonwealth or Allied countries flag , used in some type of official office or protocol sense . Is it 60/35 inches or centimetres , Canada and the US were both inches in WWII .
What makes you concerned that it's a fake?

Certainly inches looking at the door
An American made flag for Canada?

I saw this on ebay a while back and thought the union flag was upside down.
Looks fine to me.

Interesting. When you mentioned that you thought it was upside down, I noticed what you were seeing. The "2 O'Clock" and the "7 O'Clock" red stripes are not positioned as they should be. (and, no-it makes no difference if the Union Jack is on a Red Canadian flag background or by itself-it still is in the same configuration). Not really sure what to make of this, as British flags aren't my wheel house, so to speak.

I have a fairly old printed RN white ensign which has the same error with the upside down jack. Probaly just an error Imo, certainly mine is probably just a street party flag and not official issue RN.
