3rd Canadian Division Patch & CAPF patch

A couple of questions for the Canucks.

I've seen 3rd Division patches made of canvas, but this one is obviously made of felt. Was one type more common than the other?

With regard to the CAPF patch, I assume this is the smaller of the two versions (?)

A much belated reply...

This is indeed the smaller CAPF badge, which was intended to be worn by volunteers to the CAPF. The badge was to be sewn imposed on the volunteer's previous formation badge. Yours is not sewn correctly, from what I could see: both the black and the red triangles should be at the top.



The 3rd Division patch on my BD blouse is felt, but is it a WW2 original one? That I cannot tell for sure. Mine is more on the greyish side though.
