55th medical group canvas banner

I’ve never seen a real canvas sign/banner until now. This banner was brought home by a Captain Herbert S. Holdsambeck. Captain Holdsambeck was a B17 pilot with the 99th bomber group. The 55th Med. GP 15th FH was assigned to the 99th.
The banner measures 29.25”x28”, the grommets are not magnetic and the canvas is dead under a black light. There is some tape residue on the back.

Now that is a fantastic one.
Love the B-17 connection. Also the Caduceus insignia.
I guess this field Hospital would have treated the 99th wounded and dealt with flight physicals for flight status.

Phil I knew it linked to Air Corps would get your heart beating a little faster.

Bob, it’s a wonderful piece of history. There are SO MANY FAKES out there but not one example of an original that I’ve seen. This one has so much going for it. The smell, the folds in the canvas, the vet from which it came from,

I have the sons number and I plan on calling him today.
