I have this small medal or fob, and know that the men involved in this map charting
or photographing group may have been US service people as they had naval type
insignia and wings. but I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what this is.
    Commemorative ?

It's about 2.5 cm and the reverse is plain, except for 'Balfour Sterling'.........

I can tell you that the organization was founded in 1934. I believe it is a membership insignia. Could be a fob or medallion, not sure though.
