Hello....I hope someone can help me. I posted this over on the German side as well just in case. I know its a medic's armband but was hoping someone could identify it as which country by the numbers. The size is 16.5 inches long by 3 inches wide. Other then that hopefully the pics tell the story. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I did some googling and by my uneducated guess it might be an american expeditionary force medic armband from ww1. The overly sized red cross and ink stamps look simmilar to one. I suggest looking for AEF medic armbands on the internet, I found a few that look very simmilar.

If it is an AEF medic armband I found this thread on another forum that can give a lot more info about this armband. (it's at the "Red Cross Brassard: Unnumbered" and "Red Cross Brassard: Numbered" sections)

Attaching pictures I got from the websites I mentioned. Hope I'm not wrong with my findings.

Hello Litwa,......I am not sure why you hope you are wrong" ? I am very pleased because I think you may have figured it out. I did not care from which country it actually came. Looking over the information you did post, I believe you may have nailed it. The second picture with the numbered armband, the fonts of the numbers look almost identical. The placement of the red cross as well as the folded stitching on the rear. I think you found it! many thanks, now I will do a little more research on. Thanks again. I would have never guessed WW1 LOL

I was hoping I was not wrong lol, and glad to see that you agree with me on the armband's origin. IMO it's a great piece to have.

I think Litwa's research and information is spot on.

I would agree that this is a WW1 era medical brassard. It appears to be in very good condition as well.

    Best regards
