Is this badge military related? Small star with 2

Anyone any thoughts about this small star pip with a 2 on it? It came with a load of WW2 Royal Artillery related badges and is 17mm wide

It is (I think)..
It’s British, a trade/qualification badge, but I can’t for the life of me remember what for!
Unfortunately, most of my reference books are at the opposite end of the country!
Someone will put us out of our misery soon.

Would that be a British item? Although it came with all British military items, it’s odd that I have never come across one before.
