    Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me identifying the cap/beret badge and collar badge on this picture of my great grandfather.

He is said to have served in the Royal Tank Regiment from 1936 - 1945 and I am assuming the visible rank on his shoulder is the 3 chevrons for sargeant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Kim

Hi, Kim - Welcome to the Forum !

The only cap badge with a Knight on horseback that I've seen
is the 'Fife and Forfar Yeomanry':

In WWII, the 1st FFY comprised the '9th Armoured Division'
    and '79th Armoured Division'.
The 2nd FFY comprised the '11th Armoured Division'...

( Listings may not be complete )

    Hope this helps.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

The formation sign you can just see on his right arm looks to be the 79th. Armoured Div. I agree that the beret badge is the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, John.

    The guys are correct.

Here are a couple of pics of items in my collection to show you the cap badge and shoulder flash.

    Cheers, Ade.
