Purely a guess, but it appears to be some sort of Anti-American pin from, maybe, WWI era? German? Can't say that I've ever seen another like it. William

it might be worth taking a rubbing of the words across the sheild so we could se what it says because i can't make it out at all it does look a bit anti american but at the same time it could be anti weirmar republic (just before hitler) so its pro nazi

The shield reads E Pluribus Unum, which is, of course, American-as is the eagle with the olive branch and arrows. What makes me think it's anti-American is the clearly seen Snake biting it's neck! Very unusual pin. William

You could be right William the snake head looks like the end of the ribbon to me.

for me it must belong has a corp d armed there is a wheel more l eagle!.
No clue...to My ancient and feeble eyes, there seems to be a very obvious Eye on the top part of it and looking at the right side on the edge, it looks like ribbing like a snake, but who knows, I guess?...It's a weird pin,in any case! William
