    Nice early Officer's cap badge, nice patina, I would date this from the mid 1920s to the mid 1930s. The design had changed numerous times during this period and just before WW2 the design changes again and there were many manufacturers who produced the cap device and depending on how much money one wanted to spend the details on the Eagle, shield, etc. could be either very detailed or not so detailed.
