Just bought this 82nd Airborne AA patch
Article about: Dear Forum Experts, I just bought this WW2 US 82nd Airborne Patch (with help from forum member Phillip!) I am very happy with it therefor I thought I would post it on the forum to share this

Do not want to throw water on the patch as it sure looks good to me. But you can always do a black light test and if it glows then it's a fake. Natural fibers do not glow under a black light.

They will if they have been exposed to detergents and such. Blacklight isn't foolproof. There are also chemicals available that can remove the particulates that glow under black light. I forget the name of it.
