Originally served in WWI as the 10th Battalion (Liverpool Scottish) The Kings Liverpool Regiment during which time the badge bore the word "Kings" at the bottom of the scroll. In 1937 the battalion was transferred as "The Liverpool Scottish" to the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders when the new badge with "Cameron" at the bottom of the scroll was sealed in 1938.
Increased to two battalions the unit served at contingent level with other units most notably the Commando units.
After WWII the Liverpool Scottish did survive through more and more reductions and did see service in Iraq and Afghanistan attached to other regiments until April 2014 when the last remaining platoon was disbanded and fully integrated into the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
This is an early WWII period "white metal" (nickel) item.
