Need assistance with ID of Black Beret insignia

Would appreciate assistance with the identification of this Black Beret insignia. Have gone through the internet attempting to find it but not knowing the exact country of origin has hampered my search.

At first I thought it might have been French, but after a search I found this Italian Armoured Corps badge. Maybe yours is an older example?
