U.S. Button ID help please.....

Article about: I know these seem pretty generic but can anyone tell me what they are? US collar buttons I think. And any idea of how new or old......seem new to me but I don't know anything about this sort

    I know these seem pretty generic but can anyone tell me what they are? US collar buttons I think. And any idea of how new or old......seem new to me but I don't know anything about this sort of stuff....Im more of a weapons guy

    There are no markings that I could find on the back of these buttons.

    The clutches are 8 dimpled with the markings pat nos. 2308412 and 2308424 and have a star with the letter B inside.
