    Default US button help :)

    Hi guys

Just after a bit more information about this button, discovered by a friend of mine on a D-Day assembly area site. It would appear to be a fairly standard American button/collar tab, but what intrigues me is the fact that it appears to be 14k gold and rather smart !

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

It is an officers coat button. They were gold plated.

I think the scale is a little smaller - it's from an Officer's cap.........

It's the same style as an officers dress cap button, but of much finer quality. My first thought was a ring insert, but it looks like it came from a very expensive cap indeed. The standard button is below.
